Restoration Lab

This section documents conservation and restoration work carried out on selected artifacts. Each report follows a museum-style format with condition notes, treatment steps and recommendations for future care.

Black Powder Handguns

• Savage North 1861 Navy Revolver – Lee Family Restoration Report – Detailed conservation record for a Savage North 1861 Navy revolver recovered on a Texas family farm, including electrolysis treatment, spring fabrication and functional reassembly.

Shotguns

• Colt Model 1883 Hammerless Shotgun (Serial No. 2015) – Restoration Report – Sympathetic restoration of a Colt 1883 hammerless double, covering stock replacement, barrel re-browning, and mechanical inspection by Classic Firearms Restorations and Iron Will Armory.

Rifles & Carbines

• Vetterli M1870/87/15 Conversion Rifle – Restoration Report – Step by step restoration and conservation report for an Italian Vetterli M1870/87/15 6.5 mm conversion rifle, including stock repairs, barrel work and safe firing evaluation.
• Lee-Enfield No. 5 Mk I "Jungle Carbine" (BSA Shirley, 1945 – BE0123) – Restoration Report – Conservation and re-browning of a matching BSA Jungle Carbine, documenting removal of cosmoline, traditional British rust browning, preservation of shallow BSA markings, and final safety inspection by Classic Firearms Restorations and Iron Will Armory.

• WWII British "Lamp, Electric, No. 1" Blackout Lamp – Restoration Report – Conservation and functional restoration of a wartime blackout and inspection lamp, focusing on stabilizing original paint and markings, treating light corrosion, and returning the lamp to safe working order with a reversible battery adapter.
